• ·         My institutional logo needs to be added at the beginning of the film.
• ·         A sound track of a piano playing to be added.
• ·         The background noise needs to be taken out.
• ·         The first scene with Diane and Hermann needs to be cut at the end and cross faded into the next scene.
• ·         Film title and credits need to be added onto the panning shot of the basement, this clip needs to be sped up.
• ·         A video effect needs to be added on this and the previous scene to make it look more like a dingy basement by having a ‘poor’ quality video.
• ·         The third shot, Hermann watching a video of Diane, needs a spotlight effect on Hermann or the shot needs to be brighter to see his face clearer when he turns to the camera.
• ·         A door knock sound effect needs to be inserted just before Hermann turns around.
• ·         Sound track end when Hermann opens the door.
• ·         The scene with Hermann and the postman needs to be split and put into order and focus on the character speaking at the time, using a 180 degree rule shot.
• ·         The postman hands over the letters at different times in the two takes of the shot, the clip needs to be cut at a point where this change is not seen.
• ·         Background noise needs to go.
• ·         Sound track plays again.
• ·         The shot of Hermann walking into the kitchen needs to start later in the clip as he is looking at the camera.
• ·         In the kitchen, the camera makes a snap noise when the camera angle changes, this can be resolved by starting slightly further in the clip.

Film Script

Hermann’s basement

Establishing shot is a profile shot of Diane, bloody and scared, tied to a chair. Hermann cannot be seen, spotlight on her and throughout the scene the camera stays on Diane.

DIANE: Why are you doing this to me? Please please stop, I’m begging you. Please just let me go home, I don’t want to be here. Please just let me go home, I don’t want to be here anymore. My God. Why are you doing this to me?

HERMANN:

Because I love you.

Hermann leans in to stroke Diane’s face.

DIANE: No don’t no!

Scene One

The camera then moves around the room, observing each area with music playing in the background. The room is a dark, dank basement type with no sunlight and little decoration. There are all kinds of odd tools and peculiar items. From the description of the room the audience can instantly tell this man is not completely well, most probably a stalker. The main credits appear on screen at this time. The camera eventually brings us to a work desk where Hermann is sitting. We cannot see his face, but we see him from behind watching a video of Diane on the computer.  The door knocks and Hermann turns his head to face the camera.

The next scene is Hermann walking up to the front door then opening it. It is the postman.

POSTMAN: (cheerfully) Morning Hermann!

HERMANN: Morning.

POSTMAN: And how are you today?

HERMANN: Good, good. Busy yeah. You?

POSTMAN: Oh, I can’t complain.

HERMANN: Anything interesting today?

POSTMAN: Urm just a couple of letter from the health company. Nothing particularly new. No valentine’s cards.

HERMANN: (laughs) No no, not for me.

POSTMAN: Getting a little old for that, eh?

Hermann: Yeah yeah.

Postman: Anyway you got anything planned for valentine’s day seriously?

HERMANN: Yeah yeah, how bout how bout you?

POSTMAN: The usual. The old lady and I are going down the Red Lion. Valentine’s day special. Table for two, three course meal, bottle of wine. That sort of thing.

HERMANN: (sarcastically) Sounds…lovely.

POSTMAN: Not so lovely for my back pocket, but hey, it’s once a year. Anyway, I’ve got a lot of work to do. So see you tomorrow, Hermann.

HERMANN: Bye, bye.

Hermann closes the door and sighs.

The next shot is Hermann walking into the kitchen. He opens an envelope and reads it. There is letter heading that states the name of his health insurance company and the words “OVERDUE”.

Hermann is reading the letter. He begins to cry.

Institution to produce my film

Hammer Films is my chosen institution if a pre-existing company were to produce my film. It is a UK entertainment company, created in 1934.

The only genre produced by this company is horror, which is one reason why i chose this production company. Some of their well-known films are; The curse of Frankenstein, Dracula, The Mummy and The Phantom of The Opera. 

Explanation of film in short

Hermann is in love with Diane and has stalked her for years. Valentine’s Day comes around and he kidnaps her in order to be with her.

Institutional Logo

These are my first ideas for an institution name, they all associate with the horror/death genre to link with the film better. The fonts and sizes are not the ones I plan to use for my actual institutional logo.

I decided to go for 'lethal injection' as I have many ideas for this name already and I feel that this name is very fitting.

Possible film names

True Love

This name is good because it relates to love in the sense that Hermann is in love with Diane, however is his love true? Or is he just a psychopath? It defies the conventions of the film as the title is contradictory to the contents of the film. 

Bloody Love

I like this name as it relates to love in the same way as the above title but it suggests that there is going to be trials that involve death or blood in some way. It doesn't tell us why there will be blood, if it's to do with reaching love in the stereotypical way of the guy having to save the girl or in some other strange way. 
I decided to go for this name.

Stalker

This title states that a main character in the film is stalking one or more of the other characters. It doesn't give a lot of information about the film which is good as people will have to look into it to see what it is about and then be intrigued to watch it.

Valentine's Day

Valentine's day is good because it makes you think that the film is going to be happy and romantic, however it is quite the opposite as the film is about a stalker who basically kidnaps Diane and tortures her.
